The Viaje Winter Project Cigars feature an interesting blend of smooth flavors and are a Nicaraguan puro. Like the other White Label releases, these sticks feature the signature packaging of newspaper and cellophane for the bundles of 25 and are manufactured in the Fábrica de Tabacos Raíces Cubanas S. de R.L. factory in Danlí, Honduras.
Although only 6,250 of these smokes were produced, it is the largest White Label release to date. The White Label Project is Viaje’s set of special, one time releases that are either experimental, mistakes, or trial runs. These cigars were made to receive customer feedback with suggestions. They are looking for opinions regarding new flavors, altering the blends, or favorable reviews. If they are well received, they will be designated as a special release and put into regular production.
The Viaje Winter Project Cigars feature a more petite ring gauge than their other cigar releases. They have a Rothschild vitola and have been noted as having a smoke time of about an hour. When squeezed, the stick was said to be firm, bordering on hard. Reviewers stated it had a nice draw when smoked. The subtle spice of black pepper started out the flavor profile and faded during the middle. Reviewers noted that that peppery note reappeared near the end. It was noted that the flavor profile included savory woodiness, hints of creaminess, and an appearance of nuttiness. They also tasted quiet undertones of bitter espresso and sweet hints of chocolate. In the opinions of reviewers, the first third and the last third featured more prominence with the flavors.
This latest offering from Viaje were said to be quite satisfying for those who enjoy a subtle complexity of flavors, a short smoking time, and smooth corojo wrappers.

The Viaje White Label Project cigar is the latest line-up representing the limited production that Andres Farkas and the Viaje brand are best known. With only 150 boxes distributed, he believes their superior quality and consistency will remain evident. Successful blends out of this factory include their Holiday Blend, Skull and Bones, and this most recent offering, affectionately called WLP for short.
With five blends thus far, the WLP is released in boxes of 25 and wrapped in newspaper for only their top clientele to experience. It began with the initial WLP and was followed by the Candela, Fifty Fifty Red, Stuffed Turkey, and the 2012 release of the Winter Classic. Although produced in Honduras, the wrapper, binder, and filler are Nicaraguan puros. Andres’ vision for the Viaje White Label Project cigar was to experiment with factory mishaps, new blends, and even their overall make-up. He has welcomed suggestions for future editions to the collection.
This medium bodied cigar brought about an intense array of flavors and aromas for those lucky enough to smoke one. Solid in the hand, the wrapper sports deep, brown tobacco leaves showing minimal veining. Pre-lit, the WLP was said to smell woodsy and sweet. Once fired up, reviewers noticed a strong and spicy pepper flavoring in the first third. Reviewers noted that these flavors subsided a bit in the second third while adding in hints of mocha coffee and earthy leather notes. Finishing off the final third, it was noted that the pepper and spice reappeared with intensity. Notes of the earlier sweetness and coffee remained noticeable in the background.
This stick is a hit with reviewers due to its consistent strength and overall smoking experience.

As the cyber world has evolved, so has the tobacco industry, which is showing up in the growing number of cigar retailers online. They can provide a selection and ease of purchase that local smoke shops cannot. While many may prefer that aromatic and hands-on experience of visiting their favorite smoke shop, there are numerous advantages to browsing and purchasing through an internet supplier. There is an abundance of tobacco shops to choose from on the web, each with their own inventory. They may vary in brands as well as price, but they are able to buy and sell on a global level. With so many high quality smokes to choose from, many sites will offer sampler collections to enable their customers to experience a variety of stogies before investing further in a single line-up. The discounted prices many internet vendors are able to offer are a key benefit to using this method of purchase. Some will even throw in extra gifts such as lighters and cigar ashtrays to entice new clientele.
It is imperative that virtual shops provide the same fresh, high quality stogies that are available in a local shop. From their humidor storage prior to shipment to the guarantee backing of their products and services, they must demonstrate a high standard of business to their customers.
The actual websites of these tobacco stores must follow the same regulations and limitations that all vendors of this nature must adhere to. Membership in the Better Business Bureau with a grade of an A is confirmation of the fine quality smokes and service that should be expected. From saving gas to an abundance of options, cigar retailers online are able to give aficionados a whole new experience in purchasing their favorite sticks.

When it comes to the various cigar brands available, some are more famous than others. While this could be because some have been passed down from generation to generation, it is always good to keep an open mind about those that might be relatively new to the industry.
Some of the newer companies have products that rival those that have been in business for over a hundred years. The only true way to find out is to purchase as many different sticks as possible and then commence with the taste test.
While the heart, soul, and roots of tobacco sticks lie within the nation of Cuba, many of the lines that are available today do not come from that country, but have Cuban seed tobacco. This means that those families that migrated to the United States, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic when the government began to seize property brought seeds with them when they left Cuba. Now thanks to the various brands that exist today, aficionados are able to savor the tastes of times passed.
Names like Don Pepin, Davidoff, Ashton, and Camacho cigars are always going to stand out as pioneers in the industry. While there are so many more that belong to this list of stand outs, some of the new up and comers are making great strides at earning a seat in the forefront of the industry. Cigar samplers are a great way to test out new smokes.
Regardless of whether the tobacco is hand selected in Nicaraguan fields or grown in the supple soil of the Dominican Republic, there are a vast amount of cigars that are just begging for the chance to strut their stuff.
Taste preference may be sweet and nutty or earthy and harsh, but whichever one prefers, there is a flavor and strength profile available that will offer exactly the right taste to win the applause of the hardest to please aficionado.
